A career rooted in hospitality and service
With 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Rita has built a career centered on service, leadership and adaptability. Her hospitality journey began as part of the opening team at The Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach, Florida, an experience that sparked her passion for the industry and laid the foundation for a successful career.
Throughout her career, Rita has held a variety of leadership positions, including retail outlet manager, reservation supervisor, food and beverage outlet manager, convention service manager, conference services manager and catering sales manager. Her diverse background gives her the ability to quickly understand operational needs and contribute across multiple areas of a hotel.
Making an impact through task force leadership
For the past four years, Rita has supported hotels through task force assignments with THS. She enjoys the challenge of stepping into new environments, assessing opportunities and implementing solutions that help properties achieve successful outcomes.
One of the aspects she values most is the opportunity to build relationships with hotel teams and clients, while experiencing the unique culture and character of each property she serves. Rita also credits THS as one of the most supportive and professional organizations she has partnered with throughout her career.
Life outside the assignment
Originally from the Midwest, Rita spent 15 years on Florida's Gulf Coast and now calls New Mexico home. She is the proud wife of Aaron and a devoted mother and grandmother to five children and seven grandchildren.
Outside of work, Rita enjoys hiking, traveling, sightseeing and spending time at the beach. She has a special appreciation for both coastal and mountain destinations and enjoys a wide range of music, including island, country and worship music. She also enjoys great food, especially her husband's filet mignon.
Rita's advice to fellow consultants
Rita believes much of her success has come from the support and encouragement of fellow hospitality professionals throughout her career. Her personal philosophy is simple: work hard, play hard, love God and love people.
Her advice to others is to focus on what matters most, don't sweat the small stuff, be willing to go above and beyond, create a daily plan and never underestimate the impact of a smile and a kind word.
Congratulations, Rita, and thank you for the positivity, leadership and dedication you bring to THS and every team you support.
Each month, THS presents the Consultant of the Month award to someone working in the field. In addition to this spotlight article in Transformation Post, the honoree receives a gift box and gift card.
