From the CEO’s desk: Where the industry is heading and where we fit

This past month brought two clear signals about where the hospitality and staffing industries are heading and both reinforce the work we are doing at THS.

I had the opportunity to attend Bullhorn’s Engage Boston 2026 conference, where the central theme was the rapid integration of AI in the staffing and recruiting industry. Bullhorn, an industry-specific cloud platform, introduced its Amplify Digital Workers tool and shared data showing that early adopting firms increased placements per recruiter by 39%, even as overall orders declined. The message was direct. The staffing firms that will lead this next cycle are the ones using AI to move faster, source smarter and protect margin while the rest of the market compresses.

On the hospitality side, the most recent episode of CoStar’s Tell Me More podcast, recorded at the NYU International Hospitality Investment Forum earlier this month, delivered an equally important message. CoStar upgraded its 2026 RevPAR forecast from 0.6% to 2.8%, a significant revision driven by a stronger-than-expected first quarter. RevPAR is up 3.8 percent year to date, ADR has moved above inflation for the first time in more than a year and hoteliers on the ground are confirming that demand is in a better place than the macro headlines suggest. The takeaway is clear: The summer ahead is strong and operators are positioning for it now.

Both the conference and podcast point to the same opportunity for THS: Demand is rising, hotels are leaner than ever and the firms supporting them are getting more sophisticated about how they deliver talent. Behind the scenes we are investing in the systems and technology that allow us to move faster for our clients and place the right consultant in the right property at the right time. On the ground, you are the reason that strategy works. Your professionalism, your judgment and the consistency you bring to every assignment are what convert a forecast into a result for our clients.

Thank you for the work you do every day. The industry is moving in the right direction and so are we because of the team in the field. I am genuinely grateful for each of you and excited about what we will build together through the rest of this year.

Make sure you follow me on LinkedIn for updates throughout the season.

Sincerely,
